Brno office

Our Brno office is located at Areal Slatina on the 9th and 10th floors of a modern, eco-friendly building, offering an attractive view of the city. Our team can enjoy a fully-stocked kitchen, cozy rest areas, and well-equipped meeting rooms. The office also features specialized game development facilities, including audio rooms, a private cinema, a motion capture studio, and a proprietary 3D character scanner.

Prague office

Our Prague office is located in the very heart of the city at Atrium Flóra. We moved there in 2024 to support our growing team in Prague. A standout feature of our office is a spacious balcony, perfect for summer barbecues and unwinding with a stunning view of the city. Inside, our team can enjoy dedicated gaming spaces, a game library, and a 3D printer for creative projects.

History of 2K Czech

1997

Petr Vochozka and Jan Kudera establish Illusion Softworks studio in Brno.

1999

The first game, Hidden & Dangerous, is released. It is a tactical shooter set in World War II, where the player controls a squad of British SAS soldiers.​

1999

The success of the original game is followed by the expansion pack Hidden & Dangerous: Fight for Freedom (also known as Devil's Bridge in some regions).​

2002

Mafia: City of Lost Heaven is released. The game introduces a narrative-driven city action genre, quickly becoming a world-known classic.

2003

Building on its predecessor's success, Hidden & Dangerous 2 is released with technical improvements and expanded content.​ An expansion pack titled Sabre Squadron follows a year later, introducing multiplayer co-op support.

2004

An arcade-style flight simulator set in the environment of World War I, Wings of War, is released. The same year, Mafia is ported to PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

2005

Release of Chameleon. An action-stealth game with a strong narrative, where you take on the role of a former CIA agent.

2005

A tycoon game Circus Grande is released. This game puts players in the role of a circus manager.

2005

Pterodon, a studio known for titles like Flying Heroes, Vietcong, and Vietcong 2, joins Illusion Softworks.

2008

Illusion Softworks is acquired by Take-Two Interactive and becomes part of 2K Games, leading to its rebranding as 2K Czech.

2009

The 2D adventure game Axel & Pixel is released. Additionally, Mafia II gameplay footage is showcased at E3.​

2010

Mafia II, a successful action-adventure game set in the post-war period, is released.​ Three DLC packs for Mafia II are released shortly after: The Betrayal of Jimmy, Jimmy’s Vendetta & Joe’s Adventures.

2011

2K Czech releases the fourth installment of the popular tennis simulation, Top Spin 4.

2013

Hangar 13 is established in Novato, California. The brand later incorporates studios in Czechia and the UK.

2016

Mafia III is released, continuing the series with a more expansive urban environment and strong narrative.

2017

Three DLC packs for Mafia III are released: Faster, Baby!, Stones Unturned & Sign of the Times.

2020

Mafia: Definitive Edition, a highly successful remake of the original 2002 Mafia, is released.

2024

Hangar 13 releases TopSpin 2K25, the next iteration of the legendary tennis simulator.
